Omnivore Recordings has partnered with Widow’s Taste Records, Laurie Pepper’s own label, to release Neon Art, a series of live recordings on compact disc. Neon Art is aimed at both the longtime Art Pepper aficionado and those just coming to know Art’s work.
Neon Art: Volume One features two songs drawn from unissued performances at Parnell’s in Seattle, WA, recorded on January 28, 1981. It features a funky romp on Art’s composition, “Red Car,” along with another Pepper composition, “Blues For Blanche.”
