Internationally acclaimed jazz singer and pianist Carol Welsman returns with her latest release, Fourteen.
When it was time for Carol Welsman to choose the repertoire for her latest recording, she found the search for inspiring songs to be not only fun, but the final choices turned out to be quite a tell-tale personal autobiography including music she had come across and enjoyed over a lifetime journey in jazz music. Each has a special meaning, conjuring up memories from different points in her career.
“At a time when the world continues to appear upside down," Carol explains, "I truly believe music is essential to help soothe the myriad of emotions we feel every day. It was for this reason that I was thrilled to don my creative cap once again and arrange and record my 14th studio jazz album. Many of the melodies on this recording, real 'jazz' melodies, are very intricate and challenging with so many chromatic passages, and we had a blast recording them.”
Joining Carol on Fourteen is Pierre Côté on guitars, Rémi-Jean LeBlanc bass and Jim Doxas on drums.
