Coco Jones leans into vulnerability, honesty, and storytelling with a singular vision on Why Not More? with help from top producers and writers Stargate, Cirkut, London on da Track, and Cardiak.

Coco Jones isn’t just arriving, she’s already here, and with purpose. The singer, who already has a Grammy win under her belt for “ICU,”, has finally released a full album. And thanks to a plethora of previously released singles and EPs, it feels less like a first chapter and more like a continuation of the tracks already laid. With a voice that can crush a ballad one second and command a club track the next, Jones is using her moment not to play it safe, but to expand the very edges of what contemporary R&B can be.

Hot off that Best R&B Performance Grammy for the soaring, heart-wrenching “ICU,” Jones is no longer the industry’s best-kept secret. She’s ready to reshape the genre with a sound that’s unmistakably hers. “I’m really trying to push the boundaries of what R&B can be,” she told Billboard, and Why Not More? proves that she’s not just talk – she’s on a mission.

The album builds on the foundation of her breakout EP What I Didn’t Tell You, diving deeper into themes of solitude, self-worth, and personal growth. The lead single, “By Myself,” is a standout anthem of radical self-acceptance wrapped in airy melodies and late-night vulnerability. “It’s really about wanting to be comfortable alone, without needing validation,” Jones says, capturing a generational shift toward authenticity over approval.

And while Why Not More? is emotionally raw, it’s also musically ambitious. Jones worked with hitmakers like Stargate, Cirkut, London on da Track, and Cardiak to create a record that’s magnetic in both polish and experimentation. There are nods to classic soul, flashes of gospel, pop sensibilities, and even moments that flirt with trap and house. But at the center of it all is Jones’ dynamic and unflinchingly honest voice.

Raised on her mom’s R&B records and sharpened through years in the spotlight, including starring in the Disney movie Let It Shine, Coco Jones has walked a winding road to get here. But Why Not More? doesn’t dwell on the past. Instead, it looks forward, staking a claim for a future where R&B isn’t boxed in by tradition but has new places to go.
