David Kilgour (The Clean) seeded New Zealand punk and was the founding reason for iconic Flying Nun Records. Kilgour's musical career spans 30 years, and his influence resonates around the world. Not only do bands like Yo La Tengo, Guided By Voices, Sonic Youth, Pavement, and their ilk owe a debt to the Clean, but many of today's young upstarts (Times New Viking, Eat Skull, Carsick Cars) have the Dunedin godfather deeply etched into their DNA. Left by Soft is David Kilgour's first album in four years with the Heavy Eights.
