Flotsam and Jetsam return with I Am the Weapon which elevates their aggressive style of thrash metal but also surprises with fresh and unexpected twists.

Get ready to dive into the latest chapter of thrash metal mastery with Flotsam and Jetsam's new album, I Am the Weapon. It doesn’t just pick up where the band’s last two standout records left off - it propels their sound to new heights. True to their roots, the Phoenix legends unleash their signature aggressive style and blistering tempos, but this time, they're throwing in more unexpected twists than ever. From the relentless energy of the title track to the brooding, slower burn of "Burned My Bridges," each song on this album stands out in its own right. I Am the Weapon is available in four limited-edition vinyl variants, digipak, digital formats, and two exclusive bundles.

Flotsam and Jetsam have been a steady force in the ever-changing metal landscape for nearly 40 years, consistently delivering powerful albums and dominating stages worldwide. Far from slowing down, the band continues to evolve, proving their relevance with every release.

Vocalist Eric AK Knutson shares the band's excitement: "We took our time to craft an album that we’re all proud of, and we can’t wait for the metal community to hear it." Ahead of the release, fans were treated to a series of singles, starting with the title track which was followed by "Primal," and "Burned My Bridges."

Guitarist Steve Conley admits the pressure was on to top their last records, but he’s confident the band has delivered something special this time around. "We were very satisfied with both albums, he said, "but we
always feel the pressure to top what we did with our last record. Now that the new album is done, we're confident that we’ve created something truly great and even a bit unusual. Hopefully, the fans will agree."

Tracks like "Black Wings," "I Am the Weapon," and "A New Kind of Hero" stay true to the band’s aggressive, fast-paced roots while incorporating fresh, unexpected elements. Guitarist Michael Gilbert adds, "We wanted to keep that heavy edge while weaving in melody, and I think we’ve hit the mark."

The album’s eleven tracks were composed and produced by the band, recorded across multiple studios, and feature cover art by the talented Andy Pilkington. With plenty of festival appearances and headlining shows scheduled, Flotsam and Jetsam have hit the road on both sides of the Atlantic. As drummer Ken Mary puts it, "We can’t wait to see all our friends across the pond!"
