Glass Animals let us all the way in on their most personal album yet, I Love You So F***ing Much, allowing us to explore and view the world around us through their lens.

Glass Animals, known for breaking the limit with their sound and never mincing words, are back with their fourth album, I Love You So F***ing Much. The album comes after their critically acclaimed 2020 release Dreamland, which sold over 12 million copies worldwide and spawned the chart-topping hit "Heat Waves." The single became the biggest international hit from a British band in nearly three decades and marked a huge achievement for frontman Dave Bayley as the sole writer and producer on a song to top the charts since Pharrell's "Happy." That’s pretty good company to be in.

But the way to unlocking I Love You So F***ing Much was anything but smooth. Bayley found himself grappling with the pressures of newfound global fame during a time of global lockdowns. "Life can change dramatically, but sometimes you aren’t able to change as quickly on a personal level," Bayley reflected. "You end up feeling like a spectator. And then you are asked and expected to be a certain type of person, a different person. But… I wasn’t sure how. It confused me to the point of not knowing who I was or if anything was real."

This existential turmoil reached a climax when Bayley was stranded in a wooden house on stilts during one of California’s most historic storms. Forced into isolation as he watched nature’s fury unfold, he confronted his deepest fears and uncertainties. It was in this surreal setting that he began to ponder the nature of existence, human connection, and love. "As I came to accept myself as an introvert, I realized that human connection and the love between us is much bigger, more important, and more complex than anything else."

The album's first single, "Creatures In Heaven," offers a sublime introduction to the intimate exploration of love found on I Love You So F***ing Much. With lush '70s analog synths and expansive production, the song urges listeners to be present and appreciate the fleeting beauty of each moment. "It’s about a moment in time, be it a split second or a year or whatever, having the capacity to be enormously formative and life-changing," Bayley explains. "Even if it is over. Or if it doesn’t go as planned. Or if it dies too soon. It is still fucking beautiful. The love and care and the feeling in that moment lives forever. It never really dies. If that’s how you choose to see it."

With I Love You So F***ing Much, Glass Animals continue to explore themselves and the world around them, with ten intimate love stories set against the vast backdrop of the universe. The record not only showcases Bayley's growth as a songwriter but also lets listeners join him on a deeply emotional journey of self-discovery. As Bayley and his bandmates embrace the complexities of human connection, they offer an important reminder that even in our most challenging moments, love can be a constant, guiding force.
