Hot Water Music celebrate 30 years with their new album VOWS, featuring guest appearances by members of Thrice, Turnstile, City and Colour, and Calling Hours alongside a 30th anniversary trek across North America.
Gainsville, Florida punk rock stalwarts Hot Water Music celebrate 30 years together with their eagerly anticipated new album, VOWS. Produced by industry veteran Brian McTernan, this album features an impressive lineup of guest appearances from heavyweights like Daniel Fang and Brendan Yates of Turnstile, Thrice, Dallas Green of City and Colour and Alexisonfire, the Interrupters, and Popeye Vogelsang of Calling Hours and Farside.
Leading the charge are the album's opening tracks, "Menace" and "Burn Forever," which immediately showcase the raw power and musical audacity that Hot Water Music - comprised of Chuck Ragan (vocals/guitar), Chris Wollard (vocals/guitar), Chris Cresswell (vocals/guitar), Jason Black (bass), and George Rebelo (drums) - bring to this intense 12-song collection.
Speaking about "Menace," Ragan reflects, "In this day and age, it’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day frustrations. What isn’t easy all the time is recognizing our ability to choose our mental state." Wollard adds insights on "Burn Forever," noting it's about "processing grief" and "learning to navigate through it."
In addition to the new album, Hot Water Music recently launched their 30th anniversary headline tour across North America, commemorating three decades of punk rock influence. The tour kicked off in Cincinnati on May 3 and will hit 30 cities before culminating with a show at Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom in June.
"The theme that kept coming up while working on this record was growth - how writing a song, recording an album, or being in a band is like planting a seed and helping it grow," the band reflects. "Over 30 years, we've managed to create something special that we all really love." With a legacy spanning ten albums and an unwavering position as an American punk institution, Hot Water Music remains a beacon of influence and inspiration for bands worldwide. On VOWS the band's mission remains unchanged: to evolve continuously while keeping a sharp eye on the future.
