House Of Lords' twelfth album, Full Tilt Overdrive, is a hard-hitting return to their hard rock roots, packed with soaring anthems and powerful hooks.

House Of Lords' new album, Full Tilt Overdrive, is a no-holds-barred return to form for a band that’s made a career out of writing arena-ready anthems and soaring melodies. Recorded and produced by the band’s longtime frontman and creative force James Christian, alongside keyboardist Mark Mangold, the album is classic hard rock at its finest - loud, confident, and steeped in all the things that made House Of Lords a big name in the world of melodic pomp rock.

The lineup is as strong as ever. Christian’s unmistakable vocals lead the charge, supported by the blistering guitar work of Jimi Bell, who’s been a staple since the band’s 2006 revival with World Upside Down. Mangold’s keyboards fly and float, adding a majestic touch to the album's sound, while Swedish powerhouse Johan Koleberg holds it all together with rock solid drumming. The chemistry between these four is palpable throughout Full Tilt Overdrive, their second album together after 2022’s Saints And Sinners. If that album hinted at potential, Full Tilt Overdrive delivers on every promise, giving fans a more focused and ambitious batch of songs that fits in among the band's best.

The title track kicks things off with all the swagger you’d expect from a band that knows exactly who they are. “Bad Karma,” the lead single, is a riff-heavy powerhouse that takes listeners back to the late '80s, full of blazing guitars and a hook that digs in and won’t let go. “Taking The Fall” nods to their biggest hit, “Can’t Find My Way Home,” offering a nostalgic, yet fresh perspective on the kind of melodic hard rock that defined their career. And then there’s “Castles High,” the nine-minute epic that closes the album. It’s a masterclass in dynamic hard rock, moving from towering riffs to intricate melodies with ease. Christian’s vocals soar, and Bell’s guitar work is at its most expressive, delivering a fitting end to an album that proves House Of Lords still have plenty to say.

The band’s winning formula remains intact: superb hooks, sweeping atmospheres, and monumental guitar riffs - all wrapped in a production that’s nothing short of pristine. Full Tilt Overdrive doesn’t reinvent the wheel; instead, it’s an exercise in perfecting the art of what House Of Lords do best. It’s a fitting reminder that while trends may come and go, bands like House Of Lords are built to last, and are going full throttle, all the way.
