With Midnight in Paris, Johnny Britt channels his deep connection to the City of Light, blending jazz, soul, and Parisian elegance into a rich, genre-defying tribute to his artistic journey.

For his seventh studio album, Midnight in Paris, Johnny Britt weaves a deeply personal and musically rich tribute to the city that shaped him as an artist. Having studied and lived in Paris, Britt immersed himself in the city's music scene, absorbing its global influences and timeless charm. Now, he brings that inspiration full circle with an album that blends jazz, soul, and smooth R&B, all infused with Parisian flair.

The title track, "Midnight in Paris," sets the mood with Britt’s signature flugelhorn tone riding over a hypnotic groove. The single has already found a welcome home at radio, landing the most adds on Billboard’s smooth jazz charts. But Britt isn’t just about crafting lush soundscapes, his music carries depth and emotion, as heard in "C’est La Vie," a moving tribute to his daughter Mariah. The song, written as a beacon of hope for families navigating mental health challenges, delivers an uplifting message of resilience - "Not every day the sun will shine, all it is a test of time..."

Beyond the melodies, Midnight in Paris stands as a cultural bridge, reflecting Britt’s unique position as an African American artist fluent in French and deeply connected to Parisian musical traditions. His ability to seamlessly blend American jazz and soul with European sophistication makes him a true pioneer in the genre.

Britt’s career has been one of evolution and impact. From his early days in Cleveland, picking up the trumpet at age 12 and forming a band with future talk show icon Arsenio Hall, to studying under Paris Opera trumpet master Roger Delmotte at the Conservatoire de Versailles, his path was always destined for greatness. After returning to the U.S., Britt became the youngest-ever musical director for the Temptations, a role that solidified his place in Motown history and led to his co-producing the Emmy-winning "The Temptations" TV miniseries.

Furthermore, his group, Impromp2, was one of the first to blend hip-hop and jazz on the West Coast, debuting on the Billboard charts in 1995 with Enjoy Yourself. Thirty years later, Midnight in Paris finds Britt still pushing boundaries, this time through the lens of his Parisian past.
