House in the Woods stands as a poignant conclusion to Low Roar’s legacy, a reflection of the late Ryan Karazija’s journey and the emotions that defined his work.
Ryan Karazija, the creative force behind Low Roar, was a storyteller whose melodies captured the depth of human experience. Since 2010, he shaped a unique musical identity, starting with his collaboration with Andrew Scheps on the band's debut album. The project evolved further with Mike Lindsay joining the production team, creating a vibe that felt both expansive and intimate.
Low Roar’s catalog includes six full-length albums, two EPs, a live recording, a remix album, and several singles. However, it was a serendipitous discovery in an Icelandic record store that thrust Low Roar into the global spotlight. Legendary game designer Hideo Kojima found Karazija’s music and incorporated tracks from the first three albums into the soundtrack of his acclaimed video game, Death Stranding.
House in the Woods, the sixth and final studio album from Low Roar, includes standout tracks like "Field of Dreams" and "Just How It Goes." The album encapsulates everything Low Roar was known for, lush soundscapes, emotional depth, and delicate yet powerful vocals.
Sadly, Ryan Karazija passed away in October 2022, but he had already completed his parts for the album. His voice, captured before his death, continues to echo throughout this final album, leaving a lasting mark on fans, both longtime and new.
