Mackenzie Carpenter claims her throne with Hey Country Queen, not merely knocking on country music’s door, but kicking it wide open with undeniable force. Guests include Midland.

At just 25, Georgia-born singer-songwriter Mackenzie Carpenter has already made a name for herself behind the scenes, co-writing hits for rising stars like Megan Moroney and Lily Rose. But now, with her debut album Hey Country Queen, Carpenter steps into the spotlight with a batch of songs that mix cheeky charm and heartfelt storytelling with a reverence for the women who paved the way.

Raised in the small town of Hull, GA, Carpenter’s country roots run deep. She honed her craft singing in church and writing songs with her brothers, all while soaking up the sounds of country music’s fiercest female voices. Hey Country Queen reflects that upbringing, with its mix of playful swagger and downhome spirit, paying tribute to the trailblazing women of country music while firmly planting her own flag in today’s scene.

Carpenter’s sharp songwriting has already turned heads - Spotify named her a Hot Country 2024 Artist to Watch, and she landed on CMT’s 2023 Next Women of Country list. But her knack for coming up with relatable, no-nonsense country anthems is nothing new. She first made waves co-writing Lily Rose’s No. 1 hit “Villain,” then followed it up with songs like “I’m Not Pretty” and “28th Of June” for Megan Moroney, proving she’s got both wit and wisdom in lyrical spades. On Hey Country Queen, Carpenter lets loose with a mix of playful, radio-ready hits and deeply personal ballads. Songs like the rollicking “Boots On” and the cathartic, empowering “Sound Of A Heartbreak” showcase how much she has to say, while “I Wish You Would” featuring Midland feels destined for special event playlists everywhere.

In addition, Carpenter has toured with some of the biggest names in country - Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen, and Parker McCollum among them - learning from some of the best while working to find her own path. With Hey Country Queen, she’s certainly paying homage to the legends who came before her, but she’s also showing why she belongs among their ranks.
