Ten years after their unapologetically heavy release, Manchester Orchestra’s COPE roars back to life with a blistering live performance captured in COPE - Live At The EARL.
Celebrating a decade of unapologetic intensity, Manchester Orchestra has solidified the legacy of their fourth studio album, COPE. Dubbed by the band as "an unapologetically heavy rock record," COPE remains their loudest, fastest, and most relentless work to date. Now, ten years later, the band honored this milestone with a one-night-only performance at East Atlanta’s iconic venue, The EARL. This special night is immortalized on COPE - Live At The EARL, which captures the raw energy and sheer force of the album from start to finish.
Manchester Orchestra, led by the inimitable Andy Hull and creative partner Robert McDowell, have always taken pride in pushing boundaries. Their relentless pursuit of immersive and innovative soundscapes has earned them a passionate fan base, built the old-fashioned way - through tireless touring, releasing music that resonates, and crafting compelling visuals. Mainstays of the festival circuit, their music has also become a fixture in groundbreaking films and TV shows, not to mention their frequent appearances on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, CBS Saturday Morning, and other major outlets.
Described by Guitar World as “indie rock’s most visceral and essential bands,” Manchester Orchestra brought their 2014 fan favorite, COPE, to life with an intensity that still reverberates. Self-produced with longtime collaborator Dan Hannon and mixed by John Agnello at Brooklyn’s Fluxivity Studios, the album was a shift from the "prettier, quieter moments" of Simple Math, instead diving headfirst into "turbo-charged power-pop," as Rhian Daly of NME put it. Alternative Press’s Brian Shultz echoed this, praising the album’s "massive choruses, heavy plowing, and pleasing anguish" - a signature sound, magnified. Now fans again relive its glory with this special live recording.
