Michael Mani, Grammy-winning producer behind Santana and Lady Gaga, steps into the spotlight with Triangles, a dynamic debut which blends smooth jazz with infectious melodies.
From the bustling Bay Area studios of legendary producer Narada Michael Walden to his current creative hub at The JAM in L.A., Michael Mani has sculpted his career as a silent force behind some of music's biggest names. His career, adorned with a Grammy win for Santana’s "Supernatural" and collaborations spanning Whitney Houston to Lady Gaga, are clear indications of his versatile genius.
After four decades shaping others musician's sounds, Mani unveils a vibrant debut, Triangles. A showcase of his boundless creativity, the album features luminaries like Nils and Mike Parlett, blending infectious melodies with adventurous improvisations.
"I always dreamt of my solo project," Mani shares, reflecting on his classical roots and love for sophisticated pop arrangements. "Smooth jazz became my canvas - a genre that resonates with my journey and influences."
Each track on Triangles resonates with Mani’s diverse influences from the high-energy romp of the title track to the soulful allure of "Echoes of Love" featuring Nils. It’s an album designed not just for background ambiance but to ignite energy and inspire deeper connections.
The title Triangles holds deep personal significance, symbolizing the trinity of creativity - his keyboard, recording technology, and a spiritual muse guiding every note. "It’s about trusting the journey," Mani explains, "from childhood jams with my brothers to now, where faith and music converge."
Beyond his role as an instrumentalist, Mani continues to nurture talent at The JAM, his studio co-founded with Jordan Omley. Their partnership, rooted in rock, R&B, and urban music, helped establish stars like Tori Kelly and Becky G which helped pave the way for Mani’s own artistic evolution.
"I’ve had incredible moments," he reflects, "but now, as an artist myself, I’m excited to share Triangles live. It’s about connecting with audiences, inspiring them to feel the music’s positive energy."
