Nelly Furtado’s 7 is her most personal album yet, a powerful blend of personal reflection, cultural celebration, and pop reinvention. Guests include Bomba Estéreo, Tove Lo, and SG Lewis.

Four years in the making, 7 is a journey of artistic rediscovery that finds Nelly Furtado at her most vulnerable, and her most inspired. After taking a step back to focus on motherhood, Furtado felt an undeniable pull to return to the studio. “I started going out again and kept hearing my music being remixed by DJs,” she recalls. “At the same time, my daughter was showing me how a whole new audience - Gen Z - was discovering my music. I heard the calling!” That calling led to a prolific period of creativity. Over the past few years, Furtado wrote 400 songs and worked with artists, producers, and musicians from across the globe. The result is 7, an album that reflects her growth as both an artist and a person. “I came to the studio lost and searching for my artistic identity,” she shares. “This collection of songs is so personal. It reflects my journey through heartbreak, finding my confidence again, and the pure joy of nurturing my passion.”

The album's lead single, “Corazón,” is a particularly special moment. Featuring Grammy-nominated Colombian band Bomba Estéreo, the track is a wonderful mix of English and Spanish vocals, soaring melodies, and eclectic rhythms. Co-produced by Furtado and T-Minus, it’s a cross-cultural pop anthem that’s making waves. Furtado credits the song’s genesis to a creative trip to Colombia, where she found community and artistic inspiration. “Surrounded by fellow women artists who were also mothers, I felt my voice was truly awakened,” she explained. Throughout the album Furtado reconnects with her classic sound while pushing herself into new musical areas. The album’s second single, “Love Bites,” featuring Tove Lo and SG Lewis, is a pop banger with a biting edge, showing the diversity and depth that has always been central to Furtado’s sound. From reflective ballads to high-energy dance tracks, 7 is an album that’s as emotionally raw as it is musically expansive.

Furtado’s resurgence is no surprise to her longtime fans, who've remained fiercely loyal throughout her career. With over 20 billion streams and 35 million albums sold worldwide, she’s an undisputed pop star who helped shape the sound of a generation. And now, with 7, she’s capturing the hearts of a whole new audience, Gen Z included. As Nelly Furtado continues to perform at major festivals and arenas around the world, from Coachella to Portugal’s North Festival, her return shows no signs of slowing down. She may have been away for a few years, but 7 isn’t a comeback, it’s a continuation of what she first started with the hit “I’m Like A Bird.” Nelly Furtado has found her voice again, and the world is ready to listen.
