Heart Inside Your Head features Piunti (vocals, guitars and synth), and The Complicated Men: Jeff Hupp (bass), Ron Vensko (drums and percussion), Jeff Daksiewicz (guitarist) and Kevin Darnall (keys). They are all musicians assembled from veteran Detroit rock outfits. Special guests include: Ryan Allen, vocals and guitar; Kristin von B, vocals, and Geoff Michael, synth, Wurlitzer, drum programming. The LP was Produced by Geoff Michael and Nick Piunti & The Complicated Men, and it was Recorded and Mixed by Geoff Michael at Big Sky Recording, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
More introspective than his nationally well-received outings of the past, Heart Inside Your Head finds the gravel voiced Piunti grappling with current times. All songs were written after recording Downtime, in Spring of 2020 through 2021. “It’s an album about survival and dealing with what we were all going through,” Nick said. “So lyrically, the songs range from confusion, reexamining the past, some hope, some hopelessness and everything in between.”
Having been praised by MOJO, Goldmine, and honored with numerous Coolest Song of The World’s by Little Steven’s Underground Garage on SiriusXM, Piunti has developed a solid reputation. Give a listen.
