Alt-rock heroes Nothing More return with their unapologetic eighth album, CARNAL. Guests include Eric Vanlerberghe, David Draiman and Sinizter.
Three-time Grammy nominees Nothing More return with their eagerly awaited eighth album, CARNAL. Featuring 15 tracks, this album blends introspective, philosophical lyrics with unapologetically grand anthems, cementing their legacy since their 2003 debut. Known for chart-topping hits like "This is the Time (Ballast)" and "Go To War," Nothing More has amassed seven Top 10 singles on Active Rock Radio.
Produced by Grammy nominee Drew Fulk (WZRD BLD), CARNAL boasts guest appearances by I Prevail's Eric Vanlerberghe, Disturbed's David Draiman, and phonk star Sinizter, adding unique flavors to their signature sound. Formed in San Antonio, Texas, the band - Jonny Hawkins, Mark Vollelunga, Daniel Oliver, and Ben Anderson - craft music that is both primal and profound. Their sound is a blend of the cerebral and the elemental, with each track offering creative nuances that invite repeated listens. Their catchy hooks merge accessibility with innovative experimentation.
"CARNAL feels like a perfect encapsulation of what Nothing More has always been. From progressive introspection to steady-state rock ‘n roll, we’ve achieved the balance we wanted," says guitarist Mark Vollelunga.
In 2022, they released SPIRITS, featuring hits like “You Don't Know What Love Means” and “Tired Of Winning.” Two years on, CARNAL brings a focused precision, harkening back to their breakthrough 2014 self-titled album and the bombastic energy of "This is the Time (Ballast)." Powerful interludes and trippy transitions anchor it all together. If SPIRITS was water, CARNAL is fire - biting, visceral, and in-your-face.
“We wanted to revisit our roots and see what that sounds like in 2024,” Hawkins explains. “SPIRITS was an introspective deep dive. CARNAL feels immediate, harder, and more guitar-driven. We maintained our niche, progressive elements, but ensured every chorus is a banger.”
On the road, Nothing More have earned countless fans while touring with Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, In This Moment, and co-headlining with Asking Alexandria, with The Guardian noting, “There’s a sophistication to Nothing More’s angst that raises them above the tumult-tossed pit.”
