Ringo Starr's Crooked Boy EP, with the help of Linda Perry’s masterful songwriting and production, offers a fresh glimpse into Starr’s creative evolution and is a fine addition to the former Beatle’s extensive discography.

Ringo Starr, the legendary drummer of the Beatles, has teamed up with Songwriter’s Hall of Famer Linda Perry to produce Crooked Boy, a four-track EP which showcases that distinctive style that only Ringo has. Originally released as a limited edition on Record Store Day earlier this year, Crooked Boy is now widely available for fans everywhere.

Crooked Boy features four brand-new tracks: “February Sky,” “Gonna Need Someone,” “Adeline,” and the title track, “Crooked Boy.” All songs were written and produced by Perry, who previously worked with Starr on "Coming Undone" from Change The World and "Everyone And Everything" from EP3. Impressed by their past work, Perry approached Starr with the idea of producing an entire EP, and the result is a collection that vibrates with the same enthusiasm and is distinctly Ringo.

"I love what Linda did, and I think all the songs are great," Starr shares. "But one thing I did ask her was to write me a rocker. And that’s ‘Gonna Need Someone’ - and I love it! Nick Valensi plays guitars on it, and on all of the EP, and he is great."

Perry's touch is evident throughout the EP. Her ability to blend lyrical depth with accessible melodies complements Starr’s seminal voice and drumming, resulting in a batch of songs that feel both contemporary and classic. The soul-searching songs explore themes of love and strength, showcasing Starr’s ability to adapt and thrive in the modern world of music while staying true to his roots.

“February Sky” gets it all started with a gentle, reflective tone, setting the stage for the emotions that follows. “Adeline” offers a soulful, heartfelt ballad, while the title track, “Crooked Boy,” wraps up the collection with an introspective look at life’s twists and turns. As fans old and new dive into Crooked Boy, they’ll find themselves not just reminiscing about the past, but also celebrating the continuing journey of one of rock’s most beloved figures.
