Acclaimed UK singer-songwriter Robert Vincent releases his fourth studio album, Barriers, offering an intimate and introspective journey produced by Ethan Johns, marking a new chapter in his acclaimed career.

Robert Vincent's fourth studio album, Barriers, arrives on the summer solstice, a symbolic time encouraging introspection and personal growth. Reflecting on the album, Vincent shares, "I’m learning how to lower my barriers and have made a more personal album than ever before." His candid exploration of self is resonant throughout the record.

Vincent's previous album, the critically acclaimed In This Town You’re Owned, was released in early 2020, just as the world grappled with a global pandemic. Despite the unprecedented challenges, the album garnered significant acclaim, winning the Americana Music Association UK’s Album of the Year award for 2021. It also soared to No. 2 on the UK Americana Charts and was featured in American Songwriter Magazine's Top 20 albums of 2020 across all genres. Meanwhile, Bob Harris OBE of BBC Radio 2 furthered the excitement by proclaiming, “He's the real deal.”

In 2016, Harris honored Vincent with the Emerging Artist award at the inaugural UK Americana Awards, praising his magnetic presence. Following the release of I’ll Make the Most of My Sins (AMAUK Album of the Year 2018), Vincent performed on the BBC’s Old Grey Whistle Test, For One Night Only, a performance that catapulted him to the top of the iTunes Album and Singles charts.

Continuing his legacy as a distinguished voice in the UK Americana scene, Vincent's Barriers marks a significant evolution. The intimacy and introspection captured on the album are enhanced by award-winning producer Ethan Johns, whose previous work with Ray Lamontagne influenced Vincent’s own mellow and honest approach. Johns not only produced and mixed the album but also contributed his own instrumental talents.

Vincent's core band - Anna Corcoran on piano and vocals, Jim Kimberley on drums, Danny Williams on bass, and Adrian Gautrey on guitar and keys - recorded the album live in the studio under the direction of engineer Jon Withnall, known for his work with Coldplay and I Am Kloot. Guitarist Joe Coombes joined them, adding depth to the album’s sound, which bridges Americana rock and English singer-songwriter traditions.

Robert Vincent's extensive touring, both as a solo performer and with a full band, showcases his versatility. Noteworthy performances include the 2023 Celtic Connections at Glasgow Theatre Royal with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Americana Fest in Nashville, and supporting Roger Waters at Hyde Park. He has also toured with Paul Carrack and Duane Eddy. Upcoming tours following the album release will highlight Vincent's profound and heartfelt songwriting, further solidifying his place as a prominent artist.
