On Soulbound, Robin McAuley delivers a mighty mix of intense but still melodic hard rock, proving his voice remains as strong as ever.

Robin McAuley, one of hard rock’s most enduring voices, is back with Soulbound, an album that proves rock ‘n’ roll’s fire still burns brightly within him. Known for his work with Grand Prix, Far Corporation, and Michael Schenker, McAuley has built a career on timeless vocals and unforgettable performances. And with Soulbound, he takes things to the next level, delivering a guitar-driven, high-octane record that balances the heaviness of rock with the melodic essence that defines his style.

After lending his talents to Michael Schenker Fest and fronting the hard rock supergroup Black Swan, McAuley was recharged and ready to push his creative boundaries further. "This record is more guitar-driven and heavier than anything I’ve done before, but it still has that melodic core," McAuley shares. "I wanted to capture the energy of playing live with my band and bring that fire into the studio." Recorded in early 2024 amidst a whirlwind of live performances and studio sessions, Soulbound reflects McAuley’s renewed sense of purpose and urgency. With Aldo Lonobile producing, the album crackles with vitality, blending hard-hitting riffs with infectious hooks that are impossible to shake.

For this project, McAuley's backing band included guitarist Andrea Seveso, a previous collaborator with McAuley, alongside guitarist Alessandro Mammola and drummer Alfonso Mocerino, with Lonobile stepping out from behind the boards to contribute bass and additional guitars. Their chemistry is palpable throughout the album, with every song brimming with the kind of energy that makes Soulbound a thrilling listen from start to finish. Lonobile’s production brings out the best in the musicianship, allowing the raw power of the guitars and the precision of the rhythm section to shine through, while McAuley’s vocals take center stage.

While many of his peers have slowed down or faded into obscurity, Robin McAuley continues to push forward, bringing new creative output to the world. Soulbound speaks to that drive, an album that charges into the future with a raw, unapologetic sound.
