Sons of Silver’s Runaway Emotions delivers a bold debut, fusing classic rock grit, post-punk edge, and thought-provoking lyrics into a stirring soundtrack for an era in need of unity.

Los Angeles' Sons of Silver unleash a dynamic fusion of classic rock and apocalyptic post-punk with their debut full-length album, Runaway Emotions. Steeped in the spirit of protest music from the ‘60s and ‘70s, this ten-track collection is a rallying cry for unity and humanity in a fractured world. Featuring powerhouse melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, the album channels influences from the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin to U2, the Clash, and Radiohead.

“Polished and soulful, Sons of Silver’s new collection is less distortion and more lyrical vulnerability - a well-crafted album ready to bring on the new year,” praises I’m Music Magazine.

The band, dubbed a “supergroup” by American Songwriter, brings together an extraordinary lineup: vocalist/guitarist Peter Argyropoulos (Pete RG), bassist Adam Kury (Candlebox), guitarist Kevin Haaland (Skillet), drummer Marc Slutsky (Splender, Peter Murphy), and keyboardist Brina Kabler, who also engineered the album.

“Sons of Silver are that most special of entities - an unpretentious rock band who play from the heart - and, in an era of artifice, their debut album is welcome indeed,” notes Sonic Abuse.

Co-produced by the band and mixed by legendary engineer Tim Palmer (David Bowie, U2, Robert Plant), Runaway Emotions is a sonic powerhouse. Palmer says, “Their music is fueled by both power and raw emotion, with genuinely profound lyrics. Their album is a treasure trove of well-crafted, memorable songs.”

Tracks like “Tell Me This” open with a Johnny Thunders-inspired guitar solo, while “Baby Hang On” blends Elvis Presley swagger with Elvis Costello’s urgency. The haunting “Running Out of Words” warns of societal disarray, while the introspective “Friends” channels Tom Petty and Neil Young. “The record is a warning: if we continue down this path, we’re doomed,” says Argyropoulos. “But rock ’n’ roll at its best brings us together and celebrates what we have in common.”

Runaway Emotions builds on the momentum of Sons of Silver’s previous EPs, 2020’s Doomsday Noises and 2022’s Ordinary Sex Appeal, which earned three spots on the Billboard Active Rock chart and over 16 million streams.

With Runaway Emotions, Sons of Silver remind us that in a time of division, music can be both a mirror and a megaphone. As rock historian Matt Pinfield puts it, “Sons of Silver’s music embodies the spirit and enduring elements of classic rock with a thoroughly modern twist and a flair for critical thinking, which is something the world certainly needs more of right now.”
