The original soundtrack to Minions: The Rise Of Gru promises another exciting installment in the Minions franchise. Produced by Jack Antonoff and filled to the brim with a star-studded list of artists, you can expect a very funky listening experience.
Set in the 1970s, Minions: The Rise Of Gru tells the origin story of how Gru (Steve Carell), the world’s greatest supervillain, first met his iconic Minions, created cinema’s most despicable crew, and faced off against the most unstoppable criminal force ever assembled.
Jack Antonoff shared the following on Instagram: “Proud to announce the soundtrack I made for Minions: The Rise Of Gru. My favorite '70s songs performed by my favorite artists + an original I wrote with Sam Dew, Patrik Berger and Kevin Parker performed by Diana Ross and Tame Impala called 'Turn Up The Sunshine.'. Recording sessions for these were some of the most special and bizarre ….. stories one day.”
In addition to Diana Ross and Tame Impala, the soundtrack features St. Vincent, Brockhampton, Phoebe Bridgers, Gary Clark Jr., Brittany Howard, and more current artists covering classic songs from the '70s.
