It's been over two years since Home Sweet Home, the South Memphis String Band's album debut. During that interval the band that focuses on music popular before the blues were called 'a roots music super group,' broke up and, just as quickly, recorded a new album, Old Times There....
Alvin Youngblood Hart declares, 'We're back from 'retirement' and think this is an even better record than the first one.' Some of the songs are not, by today's standards, politically correct - this has Alvin facetiously suggesting, 'Our aim is to unite the KKK and the NAACP in mutual hatred of SMSB.'
