Syd Barrett & Pink Floyd - Have You Got It Yet? The Story Of Syd Barrett & Pink Floyd (DVD/Blu-ray)

Have You Got It Yet? The Story Of Syd Barrett & Pink Floyd offers a compelling exploration of Syd Barrett’s impact on music and culture, blending historical footage, personal insights, and artistic tributes into a narrative that will resonate with both fans and new audiences alike.

Have You Got It Yet? is an enthralling film that explores the life and legacy of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd. Directed by Roddy Bogawa and produced by Orian Williams, the documentary features the late Storm Thorgerson, renowned for designing iconic album covers for bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, as the interviewer.

Thorgerson, who shared a childhood with Barrett in Cambridge, offers an intimate look into the enigmatic artist's life, shedding light on Barrett's puzzling disappearance through rare unseen material and new interviews with surviving Pink Floyd members, childhood friends, ex-girlfriends, and contemporary musicians. The narrative, eloquently delivered by Jason Isaacs (known for his roles in Harry Potter and The Patriot), weaves a mosaic of fame's personal cost and the broader social context of the '60s.

The film's physical release, packaged as a DVD+Blu-ray combo, includes an exclusive Have You Got It Yet? poster designed by StormStudios. It also features a director's commentary and 26 minutes of bonus footage, offering fans a deeper dive into the story. Among the highlights are performances of "Arnold Layne" live at the Royal Albert Hall in 2006 with David Gilmour and David Bowie, and at the Barbican Centre in 2007 with Pink Floyd members David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright. These performances capture moments from significant concerts, including The Madcap’s Last Laugh, a tribute to Barrett, marking Pink Floyd's final performance.

Additionally, the package includes an insightful interview with director Roddy Bogawa and segments discussing Barrett's paintings and lyrics. Notably, spoken word performances of Barrett’s lyrics feature Noel Fielding’s rendition of “Dark Globe,” Rob Fitterman’s take on “Rats,” and Gerard Bell’s performance of “Lucifer Sam.”
