Metro is the Blue Stones' most fearless album yet, blending raw rock, blues, and pop to explore rebellion and self-discovery.

Imagine settling into a graffiti-clad subway car, its flickering ads for futuristic enhancements juxtaposed with a crackling mechanical voice: "The next stop is... your tiny, worthless life."

This is Metro, the Blue Stones' daring new album, a visceral journey through rebellion, duality, and profound self-discovery.

Tarek Jafar and Justin Tessier, the visionary duo behind the Blue Stones, forged their bond during university days in Ontario, Canada, driven by a passion for limitless creativity. From humble beginnings in local bars to headlining iconic venues like the Troubadour and Electric Ballroom, their ascent has been fueled by over 300 million streams, three JUNO nominations, and hits like "Shakin' Off the Rust."

Metro marks a bold evolution for the band. It chronicles a protagonist navigating a dystopian subway, confronting a personified darker self, an embodiment of buried authenticity. "The subway serves as a metaphor for the struggles we all face," explains Jafar. "It's about reconciling societal norms with our innermost desires." The haunting voice on the loudspeaker transforms into an inner critic, echoing the relentless pressure of societal expectations.

Songs like "Your Master" and "Kill Box" resonate with defiant energy, blending raw guitar grooves and a devil-may-care attitude. Introducing the baritone guitar, Jafar infuses the album with a gritty heaviness evident in tracks like "Come Apart," where infectious riffs and punchy drums collide in a signature Blue Stones groove. The chorus of "Woke up with a headache // Don’t know how I’m gonna work today" speaks volumes about navigating the complexities of modern life.

In contrast, "Happy Cry" emerges as a cathartic anthem, pulsating with live energy and soaring vocals - a celebration of new beginnings and personal growth.

The Blue Stones defy genre conventions, seamlessly blending rock, blues, hip-hop, and pop with an electrifying intensity. Their music thrives on controlled chaos, both in studio recordings and on stage. "We've always aimed to empower our audience," adds Tessier. "This album is a journey of rediscovering your true self amidst external pressures."
