Inspired by '80s synth pop and new wave, the upbeat Dawn FM plays like an hour of '80s pop radio with Jim Carrey serving as your loyal disc jockey. The concept of the album has been described by The Weeknd as a state of purgatory, a journey towards the "light at the end of a tunnel," serving as a follow-up to 2020's After Hours.
