On God Shaped Hole, Those Damn Crows deliver their most raw and defiant album yet, a heart-on-sleeve blast of vulnerability, melody, and muscle that proves real rock still hits hardest when it tells the truth.

Welsh rock warriors Those Damn Crows have always worn their hearts on their sleeves, but on God Shaped Hole they tear open their damn chests and let it all bleed out. It’s their most emotionally intense and sweeping album yet, a record of defiance from a band dead-set on proving that real hard rock still lives and breathes deep down in one’s soul.

“We're still here, we’re still fighting,” says frontman Shane Greenhall. God Shaped Hole is the sound of that fight. It’s not about bludgeoning riffs for the sake of heaviness. It’s about sometimes uncomfortable honesty as a weapon, melody as a lifeline, and power channeled through vulnerability. That mission pulses loud in “Glass Heart,” a shimmering rocker that cuts deeper than its glossy surface lets on. “I can be anxious, I can be unstable,” Greenhall confesses. “It looks like I’ve got my shit together, but I don’t always. Who hasn’t got a glass heart?” That kind of lyrical openness – flawed and fearless - sets God Shaped Hole apart in a scene crowded with empty posturing.

Produced by Dan Weller, the album threads together classic alt-rock hooks, metal muscle, and pop finesse without ever losing the original plot. It’s a record that sprawls and surprises but never strays from the band’s core - five guys from Bridgend, South Wales, chasing a dream through volume.

“Every album, I say, ‘This one’s gonna be heavy,’” Greenhall jokes. “But you can’t force it. You have to let the music choose.” And choose it does, landing somewhere between thunderous and tender, but always coming across like they’re speaking directly to you. God Shaped Hole is proof: vulnerability is power, melody is might, and real rock is alive and well, and screaming through your speakers.
