Sister duo Tigirlily Gold shine brightly on debut album Blonde, blending rich harmonies, personal storytelling, and infectious energy to bring a much-needed burst of girl power to country music.
The dynamic sister duo Tigirlily Gold is on the precipice of making a significant impact with their debut album Blonde. And the year has already been a big one for Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh, earning two CMT Award nominations and a nod for Best New Duo/Group at the ACM Awards. Blonde is an eclectic mix of deeply personal tracks, anthems of female empowerment, and always relatable tales of love and loss, with the sisters aiming to bring what they call a refreshing "girl group energy" back to country music. The album was produced by Shane McAnally, Pete Good, and Alex Kline, and is the perfect showcase for the sisters, who Billboard described as a "harmonically savvy sibling duo.”
Krista and Kendra first gave fans a taste of the new album with the release of "End Up Us," a heartfelt love song penned by the sisters along with Todd Clark and Jason Cole Saenz. "We believe real love, if meant to be, will always find its way," the sisters share. The track immediately connected with fans, with its tale of a love that finds its path despite the odds. The album also features the viral hit "Shoot Tequila" and the single "I Tried a Ring On," which made a significant splash on country radio upon its release.
Kendra and Krista's roots in Hazen, North Dakota, played a crucial role in shaping their music. Growing up in a household that encouraged singing, they learned to harmonize early on, drawing inspiration from the Chicks, Sugarland, and Shania Twain. Tigirlily Gold officially formed in 2013, and by 2017, they relocated to Tennessee, making a name for themselves in the Nashville scene. Performing regularly at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, the sisters honed their craft with marathon four-hour sets. Their breakout moment finally came in 2021 with the release of "Somebody Does," which topped the iTunes chart, leading to their signing with Monument Records.
