Featuring an eclectic lineup of guest artists like Placebo's Brian Molko and Tom Smith of Editors, Tinlicker's new album Cold Enough For Snow finds them reaching exciting new musical heights.
Exploring the intersection between electronic music innovation and collaborative artistry, Tinlicker has become a global force since forming in 2012. This Dutch duo, comprised of Micha Heyboer and Jordi van Achthoven, draws its name from circuit bending - an inventive practice involving the alteration of electronic device circuits to forge new sonic possibilities.
Their dynamic new album, Cold Enough For Snow, is a multi-layered body of eclectic collaborations featuring Brian Molko of Placebo, Tom Smith from Editors, and other distinguished artists such as Circa Waves, Nathan Nicholson, Cloves, and Julia Church, showcasing Tinlicker's evolution toward a richer, more organic sound.
Their recent single, "This Life," featuring Tom Smith's emotive vocals, epitomizes this evolution. The track weaves melodic progressive house with resonant percussion and poignant guitar motifs, embodying a fusion of electronic and indie sensibilities. Meanwhile, "Slipstream" is a hauntingly beautiful composition co-written with Nathan Nicholson and adorned with Julia Church's captivating vocals. This track, steeped in melancholy and desire, captures a universal longing within its rhythmic embrace.
To celebrate the album's release, Tinlicker have embarked on an already critically acclaimed tour, building upon previous triumphs like their standout performance at London's Roundhouse. This year, they're set to command legendary venues across the UK, including Troxy London, Marble Factory in Bristol, and Mandela Hall in Belfast, before venturing further into Europe with stops at iconic locales like Gashouder in the Netherlands, Elysee Montmartre in Paris, and Magazzini Generali in Milan, among others. Their tour will extend to North and South America as well as Australia later in the year.
