Recorded live at Warren Haynes' 14th Annual Christmas Jam in Asheville, NC on December 21st, 2002 at the Asheville Civic Center, The Benefit Concert Volume 4 is the fifth release in an on-going series documenting the annual concerts.

The Benefit Concert Volume 4 offers two hours of incredible music from Warren Haynes' solo acoustic cover of James Taylor's "Carolina In My Mind" to Bob Weir's versions of classic Grateful Dead songs "Shakedown Street" and "Truckin'" and the bluegrass stylings of Sons of Ralph's "Nine Pound Hammer."

As with each previous benefit, all proceeds from this series of concerts and CD and DVD releases benefit Habitat For Humanity, an international non-profit organization dedicated to building housing for those in need of shelter. The 2002 concert saw Warren Haynes put together a stellar lineup of musicians featuring Gov't Mule, Bob Weir & Friends, Jerry Joseph, John Hiatt & The Goners, moe., Robert Randolph & The Family Band and Sons of Ralph. Warren also welcomed very special guests Artimus Pyle (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Audley Freed (The Black Crowes), Dave Schools (Widespread Panic), DJ Logic, Dr. Dan Matrazzo, Greg Rzab (Buddy Guy, Jimmy Page), Jon Smith, and Mike Barnes.
